Area youth baseball teams put together great showings at Minnesota state baseball tournaments held the past two weekends. In the 10A Minnesota Baseball Tournament, Goodview Sandlot defeated the Winona Heat 6-1 to claim the state championship. Goodview Sandlot finished second at the 13AA Minnesota Baseball Tournament losing to Farmington in the championship game.
