A longtime Fastenal employee has been elected as the company's new president. 51 year old Leland Hein Jr will take over for Will Oberton who will continue to serve as Fastenal's Chief Executive Officer.
Oberton will also mentor Hein as Hein assumes the president duties.
Hein originally joined the company in1985 and during his tenure he has held various sales and managerial roles, serving as a general manager, district manager, regional vice president, and most recently, executive vice president-sales for the company. which he assumed in November of 2007.
Hein's appointment was made, effective immediately, by the Fastenal Board of Directors.
The board also made some other changes.
Nicholas Lundquist was elected to serve as Executive Vice President-Operations. Lundquist will be serving with James Jansen, executive vice president-operations.
Kenneth Nance was elected to serve as Executive Vice President-Sales for the eastern region of the company to replace Lundquist.
Gary Polipnick was elected to serve as Executive Vice President-Sales for the western region to replace Hein.
