Winona Police said a 19 year old man with no permanent address was jailed Wednesday in connection with a pair of burglaries.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said Austin Nicholas Hawkings was initially cited with first degree burglary but the case is being reviewed by the county attorney's office.
Williams said Hawkings is a suspect in a breakin at a residence in the 50 block of Vine Street and in a second burglary that was reported in the 550 block of East Front Street. A woman returning home to the first residence discovered a man inside and chased him from the residence. While police were investigating that breakin, a resident of the Front Street home reported that that home had also been entered.
Items were discovered missing from both homes and they included a laptop computer, two I-pads, some loose change, and a GPS device. The report of the first burglary came in at 11:55 a.m.
