Wellness Center

A recent community assessment has determined there is strong support for the development of a community wellness center in St. Charles.

According to the St. Charles Press, Crescendo Consulting of Winona presented its report earlier this week on the feasibility of the Whitewater Wellness Center and said its findings were positive.

The center was proposed previously to be 25,000 to 30,000 square feet in size and would be built to increase health and wellness opportunities for area citizens as a well as students.

Possible sites suggested for such a facility were: near the St. Charles High School, the location of the former North Star Foods plant, and the new industrial park under construction near Interstate 90.

No cost estimates were given and City Administrator Nick Koverman called it a good start.  He said the study would be set aside for a while before any future decisions are considered.
