SE Tech New Building

The opening of the new $2.3 million transportation building addition on the Minnesota State College--Southeast Technical campus in Winona will be delayed.  President Jim Johnson said some problems with the delivery of steel for the support structure have set the project back a couple of months.

Johnson says plans now are to move into the 25,000 square foot new building during the MEA weekend at the end of October.  But even with the later opening, Johnson says there has been a lot of interest in the programs to be housed in the new building.

The original plan was to have the building completed in time for classes to begin in a few weeks. Johnson said programs coming back for the former airport campus will be transitioned in during the Christmas holidays.  Programs coming back from the airport campus will be computerized machining technology, industrial technology, and welding technology.
