Representaive Gene Pelowski of Winona attended a disaster relief meeting at the Capitol Tuesday to get an overview of the state response to the 2012 flooding.
Pelowski says Governor Mark Dayton unveiled a 190 million dollar request for state aid to help flooded northeastern and central Minnesota communities.
Pelowski says there is still work to do on the bill and is just the beginning of a long process.
Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Kris Eide outlined the proposal at a legislative hearing Tuesday.
The bill includes the state's match for federal disaster aid, but also covers expenses such as removing flood sediment and providing loans to fix up damaged houses.
