The Winona Park Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to help out with the installation of a new playground at the East Recreation Center.
                       
Work has begun in earnest on the new park and volunteers are needed now to help in the planting of trees, plants and grass, and, following that, watering and maintaining until the new greenery establishes itself.
                      
The new "Playscape" includes a series of destinations rather than a piece of equipment and the park will be open to a variety of ages and groups of people.  The park is being built to help support Winona's mission of being named an official "Playful City."
