Goodview Utilities Insurance

The City of Goodview is considering a program that would allow residents to obtain assistance in paying for repairs to water and sewer lines on their own property if problems occur.

City Clerk Dan Matejka told a Winona Radio audience a local program would be much better than the offers some residents have been receiving from a distant insurance company.  Matejka says the city believes it would take only about 10% of the Goodview customers to sign up to make the local program worthwhile.

Matejka said no final decisions have been made but the city council is deciding if the program should be voluntary or mandatory.  Property owners are responsible for repairs on water and sewer lines that run from their buildings to the street.
