Health Rebates

Nearly 13 million Americans, including many Minnesotans, are getting rebates for medical health expenses from insurers.

State Commerce Commissioner Mark Rothman said a provision in the nation's healthcare law requires the rebates if health insurers fail to spend 80 to 85 percent of what they collect in premiums on actual health services for their customers.  Senator Al Franken said adding the provision to the health reform law in 2010 and said many people are benefitting.
