Burglaries

Local authorities are investigating a pair of unrelated burglaries that were reported over the weekend.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Ron Ganrude said a resident in Nodine reported he was missing about one thousand dollars in items from his home.  Those items included jewelry and some medication.  There was no sign of a forced entry.  The resident said he had awakened during the night and thought he heard someone in the home.  That report was received Saturday afternoon.

Winona Police are investigating a breakin at a residence in the 50 block of West Tenth Street.  A woman reported returning home on Sunday and discovering a 36 inch Magnavox flat screen TV valued at $350 was missing.  It's believed entry was gained through a basement window.
