Farm2Rail Meeting Monday
A second meeting with residents will be held Monday on the plan to load and ship frac sand from a 300 acre site east of St. Charles.
The Rochester Post Bulletin reports that last week residents learned that the company known as Farm-2-Rail, has been sold to another firm called Minnesota Proppant, which also presented an updated proposal to residents last week.
Minnesota Proppant reported its plan is to only process sand which would be brought to the site underground and shipped by trucks. The plant would cost about 70 million dollars and would employ about 50 people. Salaries would average about $40,000 a year.
The new owners are mostly residents of the Chatfield and Spring Valley areas with some in Eau Claire. Monday's meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Charles elementary school.
