Nearly 300 food shelves across the state of Minnesota will be getting a nice boost this week with checks ranging from 125-dollars to 36-thousand dollars.
The money comes from the food fund of Minnesota Foodshare and director Sara Nelson-Pallmeyer says in all, a record 900-thousand dollars will be distributed.
Nelson Pallmeyer says the 900-thousand dollar food fund was built up through donations by individuals and corporations during Minnesota Foodshare's March campaign.
The funds come at a crucial time for food shelves as donations are generally down in the summer while the need is up with kids out of school....
