Peterson and Borzkskowski Move On

Mark Peterson and George Borzyskowski will face off in the November general election in their race to become the next mayor of Winona.  They were the top two vote getters in a field of five candidates in Tuesday's primary election.

Mark Peterson, the longtime executive director of the Winona County Historical Society, was the top vote getter...netting 1108 votes.  He says he's very pleased with the result and thanked his supporters for their efforts.

George Borzyskowski says his years on the city council make him the best candidate to replace retring mayor Jerry miller.  Borzyskowski picked up 748 votes.  He says he'll spend the fall making sure that Winonans know how he would represent all voices in the community.

Susan Hoghaug finished in third place with 192 votes.  Joyce Tlougan was fourth with 138 votes.  John Skalitsky finished fifth with 36 votes.
