Ragnar Relay

More than 34-hundred runners from across more than 40 states will be in Winona Saturday for the start of the Ragnar Relay Great River Run.

The event features a 200-mile long course that starts at Winona's Levee Park and winds its way through western Wisconsin and ends up in Minneapolis on Sunday.

It's part of the Ragnar Relay Series  presented by Nordic Track.

The runners in small groups will cross the river in Winona and head up Highway 35. Teams begin at different times throughout the day starting at 5:00 a.m.

Motorists are being asked to watch out for the runners and their support groups as they proceed up the river through  towns like Fountain City, Alma, Pepin, Stockholm and Maiden Rock.

After running throughout the night, the event finishes at the East River Flats in Minneapolis Sunday where a big celebration will be held.
