Fish Refuge



The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge invites the public to the grand opening of the new La Crosse District visitor center and maintenance facility.
              
The event will be Saturday, August 25th at 10 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a day of family activities; programs; guided prairie walks; and building tours.

Family activities will held from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The 12,000 square foot visitor center and 6,000 square foot maintenance building include exhibits, staff offices, storage, bookstore and gift shop, and vehicle work areas. Accessible trails provide opportunities for exploration of the prairie.

The center is located at N5727 County Road Z in Onalaska.
