A 20 year old Winona man is facing felony drug charges after police searched his vehicle following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said an officer stopped Santino Leigh LaPorta about 4:00 p.m. after noticing the vehicle had expired license plates.
A search was conducted after the officer noticed a smell of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The search turned up some amphetamine capsules, along with some marijuana cigarettes and a smoking device.
LaPorta was jailed on preliminary charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, open bottle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and minor possessing alcohol in a vehicle.
