A 29 year old Winona man is facing fifth degree controlled substance charges after a police discovered he was in possession of a substance commonly known as hallucinagenic mushrooms
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said authorities were called to the area of Riverview Drive and Bierce Street just before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a man waiving his middle finger at vehicles passing by.
They wound up arresting Mathew Flowers and taking him to the Law Enforcement Center. During the booking procedure, authorities discovered the so called mushrooms in Flowers' possession. His blood alcohol content was also measured at 0.27%, over three times the legal limit to drive.
Flowers was placed on a temporary hold at a medical facility.
