With fall right around the corner, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is encouraging deer hunters to apply early for an either sex deer permit.
                    
There have been some changes to the lottery areas this year especially in northern Minnesota, and the DNR's Wildlife Research Manager Lou Cornicelli wants to make sure hunters don't miss the deadline.                    

Cornicelli added that the deadline to apply for a license for the state's first wolf hunting and trapping seasons is also September 6th.
