ACT Scores
ACT test results jumped last year for graduating seniors in La Crosse public schools and in other districts across the region.
According to the La Crosse Tribune, improved scores in all of the exam's four subjects pushed the district's average composite score from 22.5 to 22.9, again beating the Wisconsin average of 22.1.
The number of students who took the exam dropped from 322 in 2011 to 306, but district officials have yet to calculate the percent of 2012 graduates who participated.
More detailed test data, by district, will soon be released by the state.
On average, Onalaska graduates scored a 23.3 composite this year, down from 23.4 last year, but more students took the test. The rate of students taking the ACT rose about 10 percent, to 74.4 percent.
