Clendenen--Drug Charges

Winona Police said an 18-year-old Minneapolis man was jailed early Thursday on felony drug charges including the alleged possession of "plant food."

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said an officer of foot patrol spotted Mitchell Clendenen inside a vehicle at Ninth and Harriet Streets about 12:30 a.m. drinking something.

An investigation discovered that Clendenen was allegedly in possession of 1.2 grams of methadrome, a synthetic drug otherwise known as plant food. Authorities also turned up 6.4 grams of marijuana and almost four grams of a substance commonly known as mushrooms.

Clendenen was also cited with possession of drug paraphernalia, plus underage possession and consumption of alcohol.  An 18-year-old woman in the vehicle with him was not cited.
