Chief Retires
Sam Stensgard is poised to end his 28-year career with the Rushford Police Dept. on Saturday, the last 21 years as the city's Chief of Police.
According to the Tri-County Record, by his retirement date, he will have more than three decades of police work under his belt.
The 56 year old Stensgard, a Lanesboro native who makes his home in Rushford, joined the RPD as a full-time officer in 1984. He became the Rushford Chief of Police on December 31st, 1991 when Jay Summers retired.
