A new police chief takes over in Rushford on Saturday.

Adam Eide  will assume the position with the retirement of current chief Sam Stensgard who steps down after completing 32 years in law enforcement...28 with the city of Rushford.

The Tri-County Record says the promotion of Eide to chief means an opening in the three full-time officer department. The department also has two part-time officers.

The vacancy will be posted in-house.

Stensgard's final day is Friday.
