The Onalaska and Bangor/Burns fire departments have announced open burning bans throughout their jurisdictions because the index of fire potential has reached its highest level.
                       
The La Crosse Tribune reports the Onalaska Fire Department's ban includes the portions of the towns of Onalaska and Medary it covers.

The Bangor/Burns ban encompasses the towns of Bangor and Burns, and the villages of Bangor and Rockland.
