A 35 year old Winona man was jailed Saturday on suspicion of felony assault on a female adult and malicious punishment of a child.
Police Sargent Chris Nelson said Lawrence Jacob Cortez was cited after police were called to the a residence in the 200 block of East 10th Street about 1:30 p.m..
Nelson said Cortez is accused of biting a 4 month old child. Police said Cortez is also accused of grabbing the woman by the hair and neck and throwing her on to a bed. That was after she allegedly tried to poke him with a scissors during a disagreement.
Authorities found teeth marks on the baby. Nelson said Cortez and the woman had been involved in a previous argument.
Authorities are also looking for a 30 year old Winona man who is accused of assaulting a woman and her daughter.
Police Sargent Chris Nelson said Keyeon Carson has been cited with felony and misdemeanor assault as well as malicious punishment of a child. Nelson said authorities were called to a residence in the 150 block of West Broadway about noon on Sunday.
A woman complained that Carson allegedly pulled her hair and spit on her during a disagreement the previous night. The woman also said Carson allegedly slapped her young daughter on the face leaving scratches.
