The new St. Mary's University residence hall has opened for students this week for the new school year.

Work was completed in time for the centennial celebration SMU's founding in 1912.

It's open to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students during the academic year, and will serve conferencing, camps and educational program needs in the summer.

The new dorm is located along Gilmore Valley road near the SMU outdoor track. It has 141 beds in 45 units with private baths in each room. It also features both single and double-occupancy suites,  plus two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

All rooms are air conditioned and wired for cable TV and the internet.
