Diocese Fundraising
The Catholic Diocese of Winona has decided to move forward with a major fundraising effort.
That's according to the Diocese newspaper 'The Courier,' which reports this month that response from recent mail, online surveys, and focus groups has been tremendously positive.
While the campaign goals will be finalized during the upcoming months, there has been strong support for using the funds for two major issues: improvements to the priest retirement program and improving seminary buildings.
The paper said 67-percent of those who participated in a feasibility study said they would financially support a fundraising campaign.
Planning will be done over the next five to seven months and the campaign is expected to begin in the spring of 2013.
