County Board
More sand mining issues will be going before the Winona County Board of Commissioners next Tuesday, September 11th.
The Board, meeting as a Committee-of-the-Board after their regular meeting, will review a citizen's petition seeking an environmental assessment worksheet review on the proposed frac Nisbit sand mine in Saratoga Township.
Board members may also decide whether to grant a conditional use permit to begin operations at the county's first frac sand mine.
However, that decision may be delayed until after the state Environmental Quality Board meets on September 19th to see which governmental body should oversee the Nisbit sand mine...more than likely Winona County.
The regular meeting starts at 9:00 a.m.Tuesday at the County Government Center.......
During the regular meeting, the board is expected to accept an Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant for implementation of the county's new Drug Court in October.....
