WAPS-Attendence

The Winona Area Public School Board has approved hiring part time staff to help out at Goodview Elementary School this year due to the large enrollment.

Human Resources Director, Pat Blaisdell, told the board kindergarten classes at Goodview are a bit larger than the other schools and the extra help is needed.

The district has a total of 232 kindergarten students enrolled this year, the highest total in years.

Blaisdell says the two supervisors will work a few hours a day at Goodview with the cost amounting to about 17-thousand dollars.

Total enrollment for the district this school year, including charter schools,  is just over 3-thousand, 800 students as of last week.
