The Buffalo County Sheriff's Department says a 30-year-old Nelson man is being held in custody in Alma after the pickup truck he was driving struck a 32-year-old Mondovi woman early Sunday.
                   
Chief Deputy Colin Severson said Lucas N. Makescoldweather  was backing out of a private driveway just before 4:00 a.m. when he backed into a parked car. Before putting the truck into drive he accelerated rapidly running over the woman. The vehicle then proceeded to drive into a nearby garage.

The woman was transported by the Mayo medical helicopter with possible life-threatening injuries.

The woman's name was not released.

Makescoldweather was arrested at the scene and jailed in Alma.
            
Authorities said alcohol was involved and the incident remains under investigation.....
