Minnesota Senator Al Franken says the Senate is expected to pass a bill designed to improve health care access to rural veterans.
                   
Franken told a Winona Radio audience the legislation will give rural veterans access to health care closer to their homes at VA expense.  Franken says the bill will be included in an omnibus veterans bill which he says will pass the Senate.

Franken also said  his colleagues will begin debate soon on a second bill, called the Veterans Job Core Act, which is patterned after the Civilian Conservation Core of the 1940s.  The measure is designed to provide jobs for veterans returning from active duty.
