The Rushford City Council has set a preliminary 2013 property tax levy that includes a 2.9% increase over the 2012 levy.
                  
According to the Tri-County Record, councilmembers said the increase is due to the need to replenish fund balances drawn down by flood repair and some funds which have not yet been reimbursed by the federal government.

The Wabasha County Herald reports the City of Wabasha has approved a 2% increase in its 2013 property tax levy. That represent's a $370,000 increase in the overall budget.

In both cases, the levies will be finalized in December. They can be reduced by not increased before then.
