The Monroe County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate an incident where a body was found Tuesday inside a burning car.
            
From an autopsy, the State Crime Lab determined that the victim is the body of a woman. DNA has been submitted in an attempt to positively identify the victim, according to News8000.com.

Authorities determined the car to be a 1998, 2-door Pontiac Grand Prix  with Minnesota license plates.

The body in the car was not the registered owner of the vehicle.

The car has been taken to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department impound facility where it has been processed for evidence.

The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
