Habitat Bike Ride
The Winona-Fillmore County Habitat for Humanity Chapter has received nearly 5-thousand dollars as part of the proceeds from the 20th Anniversary nationwide Habitat 500 Bike Ride.
The event took place July 14th through the 21st and bicyclers across the country pedaled a collective 67-thousand-500 miles.
They also surpassed Habitat's national goal of 300-thousand dollars by raising 365-thousand dollars.
Locally, the Winona-Fillmore Chapter received 4-thousand-869 dollars from the proceeds.
Local riders Deb Hegland, Bert Mohs, and Carol Girard took part in the Minnesota portion of the bike ride.
The funds will stay in Winona and Fillmore counties and help complete three homes currently under construction, in Winona, Utica, and Harmony.....
