Merchants Bank says its La Crescent branch office will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Thursday, October 11th, with an ice cream social. 

The La Crescent Bank first started in 1912 under the name La Crescent State Bank.  It was acquired by the Merchants Bank in 1990 and continued to operate under that name until 2002 when the name was changed to Merchants Bank.
                  
The ice cream social will be held outside the bank, weather permitting,  from, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the public is invited to stop by.  Entertainment, including events for the kids, will also be provided.
