On Thursday, October 4th, people from all over the country will be able to listen to Winona's  2011 Minnesota Teacher of the Year read a children's book.
                  
While in Washington D-C last April, Katy Smith recorded a reading of the featured book in support of the Pearson Foundation's "Jumpstart Read for the Record" initiative.

Read for the Record is one day of the year when millions of individuals celebrate literacy and support Jumpstart's efforts to promote early childhood education.

Smith recorded the book "Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad" while in Washington D-C.

Her reading will be available to the public on October 4th on you-tube.com..
