The Winona County Board of Commissioners will consider a conditional use permit for the county's first frac sand mine next Tuesday, October 2nd.
                      
The item is on the board's general business agenda for the meeting at the County Government Center at 9:00 a.m.

But before the board gets to the permit request it will first consider a citizen petition requesting the board require an
environmental assessment worksheet be completed before a permit is issued.
             
The County Planning Commission is recommending that the E-A-W not be ordered.

David and Sherry Nisbit are requesting the permit to allow for the mining of frac sand on 20 acres of their land in Section 35 of Saratoga Township.

The meeting will be open to the public.
