Governor's Deer Opener-Hosting
The Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association is seeking landowners who want to participate in the 10th Annual Governor's Deer Hunt at Winona by being a volunteer hunter host.
The opener will be held in Winona November 2nd and 3rd and the hunter hosts will help promote the deer hunting tradition, and the Winona area, by allowing visiting media and others to hunt on their land.
Spokesman Joe Cannella said hunter hosts receive a complimentary ticket to the Governor's Deer Opener Big Buck Luncheon on Friday, November 2nd at the Winona Sportsman's Club, where they will be formally recognized.......
Cannella says liability concerns are not an issue. Minnesota law says a property owner who gives permission for the use of their land for recreational purposes without charge is not liable for an injury to any person or property on their own land.
Contact the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association at 218-327-1103, extension 12 for a host application.
