NAMI Fundraiser

The second annual cut-a-thon/massage and book signing fundraiser for mental health in Winona will be held in memory of Anna Mulkey this weekend.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Winona Affiliate fundraiser will be held  on Saturday today from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road.

Co-sponsor, Wendy Sandvig with Nostallja Studio, says so many families deal with mental illness the event helps people realize they are not alone.

Sandvig says wet haircuts and massages will be provided for a $10 minimum donation with all the proceeds going to provide mental health services, support and education.'

Winona author, Dorothy Ruppert, will be on hand to sell and sign her book, "God Placed Her in My Path - Lessons Learned from the Furnace of Bipolar Disorder." Three dollars from each book sold will be donated to NAMI -Winona.

Last year's fundraiser raised about 1-thousand dollars.
