Lauren Renk, a senior, is the Cotter High School student of the week.
She is the daughter of Tom and Ann Renk, and has 4 siblings; Jacob, Christian, Joseph and Grace.
 
     Teachers describe Lauren as being very positive,  provides good leadership for younger students, and has the respect of her classmates. She is kind to everyone, and brings a positive light to so many situations.  At Cotter, Lauren is involved in tennis, band, basketball and National Honor Society. She has also helped tutor students.  
She states Anatomy is her favorite class at Cotter because, “It’s very challenging, and I want to be challenged, especially during my senior year.”
 
     Outside of school, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going on the river, and going to the family cabin.
 
     What she likes best about Cotter is the family atmosphere, knowing everyone, and the really great teachers who are always willing to help.
  
 
Abbey Allen, a 6^th grader in Mrs. Schauer’s class, has been selected as the St. Stan’s student of the week.  She is the daughter of Tracy and David Allen, and has one sibling, Aubrey, an 8^th grader at Cotter Jr. High School.
 
In school, Abbey’s activities include basketball, soccer, playing flute in the school band, and running Cross-country for Cotter Junior High.  She is also the president of the Student Council. Abbey lists her favorite subjects as band, science and social studies.  Outside of school, she likes to play sports, draw, practice her flute and play piano. 
 
Abbey’s teachers describe her as being very respectful, friendly and helpful to all.  She is also organized, hard-working and academically gifted.
 
She states that she likes going to school at WACS, because  “the class sizes are small,  so the teachers can give us a more individual approach in all subjects.  I am also glad that I can learn and talk about Jesus.”  When she gets older, Abbey would like to be an eye doctor.
