City Council
Winona city council members will be asked Monday to vote themselves a pay raise.
City Manager Judy Bodway is proposing a plan to restore a 500-dollar pay reduction that council members took in 2009, plus an additional 1.5% raise in 2013.
Council members currently make $6113 dollars a year and the mayor is paid $8790. The raise would increase councilmembers salaries to $6696 a year and the mayor's salary to $9407.
Like other city employees, the mayor and council members would see a one percent increase in January 2013 and another half percent increase in July of 2013. The council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
In addition, the council will be asked to approve a three percent salary increase over two years for the Winona Police Sergeants. That would include a one and a half percent increase for 2012 and another one and a half percent increase for 2013.
