City Council Salaries
Winona city council members Monday voted 4 to 2 in favor of granting themselves a pay raise.
The raise included restoring a 500-dollar pay reduction that council members took in 2009, plus an additional one and a-half percent raise in 2013.
Council members currently make 6-thousand-113 dollars a year and the mayor is paid 8-thousand-790 dollars.
The raise will increase council members salaries to 6-thousand-696 dollars a year and the mayor's salary to 9-thousand-407 dollars.
Like other city employees, who’s contracts are all completed, the mayor and council members will see a one-percent increase in January 2013 and another half-percent increase in July of 2013.
Council members George Borzyskowski, who is running for Winona Mayor, and Al Thurley, voted no on the raises.
