Goodhue County is looking to the City of Red Wing as it puts together a frac sand ordinance.
                    
The Rochester Post Bulletin reports the Red Wing City Council last week unanimously approved amendments to its ordinance.  County Commissioner Ted Seifert said the county is looking at Red Wing for the ordinance it is developing.  Seifert's district includes part of Red Wing.
                    
Red Wing Planning Director Brian Peterson said there has been no interest mining in the city because its geology would require blasting. But its ordinance will regulate the transportation and processing of the frac sand.
