Coke Plant

Winona's Coca Cola Bottling Company will see the end of an era Tuesday when the final six-ounce bottle of coke comes off the line.

The Winona plant is the last Coca cola plant plant in the nation to bottle coke in the mini bottles and company officials announced in August the small bottles will come to an end.

Some 6-thousand of the six-inch glass bottles will be filled before that line is shut down for good.

WCCO Radio is reporting bottlers from across the Midwest are expected to be in attendance.

Company spokesman Kevin Morris told WCCO the last bottles will be sold for 20-dollars each with the proceeds going to the Lake Winona bike path.
