Mayor Candidates



The two candidates running for mayor of Winona are both touting their experience in public service.
                
Current City Councilman George Borzyskowski and County Historical Society Executive Director Mark Peterson are both longtime residents of Winona who have been very active in the community.

Borzyskowski told a Winona Radio audience his 14 years as the 4th Ward Councilman give him special knowledge of city issues.  He says the future of Winona is building on its past.., the river, railroads, trucking industry, and the airport.

Peterson cited his 30 years managing the Historical Society and his his community participation that make him the best choice for mayor.

One of the two will replace current mayor Jerry Miller who will step down at the end of the year after serving as mayor for 16 years.

Interviews with the local and area candidates in the November 6th general election are being featured on KWNO 12-30 and KAGE 13-80 AM stations each weekday morning between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. through October 26th.
