Two candidates from western Winona County are seeking the third district seat on the Winona County Board of Commissioners in November.
                  
Incumbent Mena Kaehler of St. Charles is looking for a second four-year term and is being challenged by fourth generation family farmer Steve Jacob of Whitewater Township.
                  
Kaehler, who has chaired the board the past two years, told Winona radio News she wants voters to take a look at what the county board has accomplished during her term.  Jacob has been involved in landowners' rights issues, including the updated County Comprehensive and Landuse Plan, and says he wants to bring more of the people's voice to the county board.

The third district seat is one of two seats on the county board involved in the election on November 6th.  The other is the fourth district where incumbent Greg Olson is being challenged by Walt Kelly.
