Poillon--Drugs

A 26-year-old Winona man is facing the possibility of felony drug charges after he was arrested in Winona on Monday.  Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said police responded to a citizen's call that a man was acting suspiciously in a vehicle at Fifth and Mechanic Streets for about an hour.

They cited Eric William Poillon was fifth degree possession of a controlled substance--cocaine, along with five other counts including giving false information to a peace officer.

During a search of the vehicle, police turned up a vial with a substance that tested positive for cocaine. They also discovered another substance that tested positive for marijuana, plus they recovered some business checks that had been missing from Shumski's in Winona.

Poillon was jailed pending a review of the case by the county attorney's office for formal charges.
