Wabasha residents will have an opportunity to speak their minds next week on an application for a frac sand loading operation in their community.
                   
The Wabasha County Herald reports the Wabasha Planning Commission will meet next Tuesday, October 30th, at the county criminal justice center to consider a conditional use permit sough by Superior Sands Systems.
                   
The firm wants to haul frac sand from Wisconsin into Wabasha to a proposed facility on Wabasha's west side where the sand would be loaded on to railroad cars for shipment to North Dakota.  The City Council discussed the request last week but took no public comment.
                   
The proposed truck route would take sand trucks across the Wabasha bridge and on to Highway 61 before reaching the loading site.  Monday's meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m.
