Election--Shortridge

The Chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota is predicting Republicans will hold on to their majorities in both the state House and Senate after the general election.

Winona native Pat Shortridge told Winona Radio News he sees no significant swing in the upcoming election to allow Democrats to pick up the majorities in either body.  Shortridge also said with the Democratic Governor Mark Dayton in office for two more years, he hopes to see more bipartisanship in solving the state's problems and fewer vetoes that were more common over the last two years.

Democrats need to gain some four more seats in Senate and six in the House to take over the majorities in 2003.
