A Wisconsin Judge has denied an appeal by the Citizens Energy Task Force which sought a review of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission's approval of the CAPX2020 powerline through western Wisconsin.
The Public Service Commission had earlier approved the construction of the Hampton, Minnesota, to La Crosse high voltage powerline. The Citizens Energy Task Force had cited numerous legal problems in the PSC's decision.
On Friday, Judge Ann R. Smith, ruled that the attorney representing the Citizen's group was not allowed to continue to represent the group in the Circuit Court. According to a press release, the Citizen's group was the only organization appealing, and no provisions were granted to the group to obtain another attorney to resubmit the appeal.
The Citizens Energy Task Force had cited problems in defining the project need, cost and reliability. It claimed costs for the project were grossly understated and not justified for local benefits.
