Grain Spill

The Winona County Sheriff's Department says a 21 year old Stewartville man escaped serious injury when the semi-truck hauling grain he was driving tipped over near St. Charles Thursday.

Investigator Rob Averbeck said the truck driven by Caleb Conger was approaching a 90 degree corner on County Road 37 when the load shifted causing the truck to roll onto it side.  Averbeck said the load of grain spilled on to the roadway. A piece of equipment with a large vacuum was brought in by the truck's owner Meyer'sTrucking of Plainiew, to clean up the mess.

The road was temperorily closed during the cleanup.  The incident was reported at 7:22 a.m.
